How is data collected from this Site protected?
Harmoney has multiple levels of security, regardless of the submission channel you may choose. We maintain personally identifiable data on safe computer systems and any and all access thereof is limited to employees on a business need-to-know basis. Specifically, employees may have access to your data when they need to complete a maintenance tasks, bring your data up to date or assist you in any way. We protect data in accordance with the applicable security rules and procedures. Our employees are trained to understand and follow these data principles.
Harmoney is protected by a filtering router and firewall system that builds a barrier between the Internet and the Intranet. The filtering router verifies the source and destination of every data package from the network and determines whether the package is or is not allowed to enter. If the data package is not directed to an available specific service, access is denied.
Firewalls are used to protect Harmoney’s customer service network on the Internet. Any and all incoming traffic from the Internet Provider (IP) is actually directed to a firewall, which is designed to allow only the e-mail address to the customer service environment. Traffic through a firewall is subject to a special proxy process that works similarly to a filtering router to verify the source and destination of every data package.
The proxy then changes the IP address of the data package to take it to the appropriate site on the customer service network. Thus, all internal addresses are protected from outside access, and the structure of Harmoney’s internal networks is invisible to outside viewers.
